Policy Advisors Harry Reid Office Visit

On October 6, 2014 Representatives of Overton Power District No. 5 met with Ryan Mulvenon, Sara Moffat and Vinny Spotleson, Policy Advisors to the Office of Senator and Majority Leader Harry Reid. The meeting was held at the Overton Power District No. 5 Board Room in Mesquite, NV.

Several topics affecting the Electric Utility Industry in Nevada were discussed. The topics included the Hoover Dam Power Generation allocation, the Bureau of Land Management permit process, physical and cyber security and how the recent floods in the area impacted the system. OPD General Manager, Mendis Cooper also discussed with the Policy Advisors future generation needs including programs that will enable the incorporation of renewable generation into the District’s future power portfolio.

Overton Power District No. 5 will continue to communicate on a regular basis with the Office of Senator and Majority Leader Harry Reid, staying on top of legislation affecting the Electric Utility Industry in Nevada and submitting comments and concerns.
